Discovering the spiritual essence in traditional culture, creating unique scenery in modern cities; taking towers as mountains, streetscapes as flowing waters, embracing nature, and exploring oneself. This is the answer we have found for the design of the Qianhai Urban Park.

As a world-class city center, Qianhai's parks also need to explore their unique sense of place and spatial features. They should not only be pleasant green spaces by the streets but also escape the monotony of the modern city, providing citizens with unique experiences and cultural identity.

The site faces three main challenges: the huge scale difference brought by the towers, the modern yet somewhat ordinary street environment, and the absence of greenery and nature. Inspired by the works of artist Yang Yongliang, we began to reexamine this place: the towers resemble profound mountains, distant from the streets; the streets are spacious and flat, vibrant in the atmosphere. Despite being separated by a thousand years, it resonates with the ancient Chinese painting "Traveling through Streams and Mountains" by the Song Dynasty artist Fan Kuan. We decided to reconstruct and rejuvenate the urban streetscape here, creating an urban landscape of mountains and streams in Qianhai.
